I am placing a new P2P link and am having trouble getting a RB/532 to achieve gateway from a RB/333 VIA Ethernet.
The RB/333 is to be the primary source of bandwidth from the NOC 10.0.0.1 and the RB/532 is to slave off of the RB/333 VIA Ethernet.
To begin my config in the RB/333 uses one XR9 for an AP, and AR5 for an AP and an XR5 for a P2P link.
All P2P and P2MP are configured using WDS with bridging.
I am trying to place another 5Ghz P2P link to a new area in town using a RB/532 with an AR5 also setup as WDS with bridging.
I have configured ether3 of the RB/333 with the IP 10.0.0.11 and it’s gateway is 10.0.0.1…
RB/333 wlan 1 10.0.0.8/24, wlan2 10.0.0.9/24, wlan3 10.0.0.10/24
Likewise I have configured ether3 of the RB/532 with the IP 10.0.0.12 and it’s gateway is 10.0.0.11…
RB/532 wlan 1 10.0.0.13/24
I then placed an Ethernet cable between ether3 of the RB/333 and ether3 of the RB/532
In the RB/532 I have defined ip/firewall/filter as follows:
Action Chain Src Address Dst Address Out Interface
Accept forward 10.0.0.12 10.0.0.11 ether3
In the RB/333 I have defined ip/firewall/filter as follows:
Action Chain Src Address Dst Address Out Interface
Accept forward 10.0.0.11 10.0.0.12 ether3
When I am logged into the RB/333 and look at N View I see ether3 address 10.0.0.12 of the RB/532
Likewise when logged into the RB/532 and look at N View I see ether3 address 10.0.0.11 of the RB/333
Neither unit can ping the other at present.
I know I am missing something very stupid here, but am stumped trying to communicate between the two RB’s.
Could somebody help me me out with this please?
