RB 532 mini pci slot not working

i have 2 rb532 whose mini pci slots are off and can not detect and wireless cards. some please help :frowning:

do the same cards work in other of your RB532? If yes, then it could mean that the miniPCI slots are damaged in these two, and you need to either send them to repair, or just buy new ones

they are working on different 532rb boards. is it possible for the pci mini slots to be repaired? if yes then how
i want to see if i can do it myself or who can do it for me. maybe i can reload the router os again

check the connectors with a magnifying class, sometimes a little defect on one of the miniPCI connector leads can cause it not to work at all.

they are all intact. this happened some time ago and after some time it started working again

It doesn’t have to be broken, some little speck of soldering on the bottom of the connector pin can cause this

i cant find any problem with it

do i have to eliminate fact that it could be from the os?

anyway, I suggest you to return it to warranty repair

i dont think we will get warranty repairs here in Ghana since all these boards come from abroad hence no t.s. locally

Well, as RB are made in Latvia only - ALL worldwide locations receive them from Abroad  I guess you paid somebody for them, well you could try to ask them what to do …

can i use this command to upgrade the os of the 532rb ?

/system routerboard settings set boot-device=try-ethernet-then-
nand

please advice

i will try and find out

no, you need to upload the new package via FTP and then reboot:
http://www.mikrotik.com/download/routeros-mipsle-3.16.npk

after that try to issue this command to upgrade the bootloader too:

/system routerboard upgrade

the whole file can not go onto the board

what do you mean  ? delete everything you have in the “Files” menu. also uninstall packages that you don’t use.

what do i uninstall the file with?

in Winbox, open FILES and see what you have there. Most likely everything can be safely deleted. Just select it, and click on the MINUS button.

Same for packages, go into System->Packages and uninstall packages (be careful!) that you don’t really need.

the board keeps restarting and will not stay stable for the ftp to finish
