I got two RB 532s with one SR5 on each. Link is stable but bandwidth (not the test but the one under registration table) keeps bouncing from 6Meg to 54 Megs and back. I know that a test would give somewhere between 20 Megs tops. Anybody else facing the same? signal strength is arnd -58.
Hi!
I think we have the same problem (I write this down in this post - “RouterBOARD 532 and 2 x 5.8 link speed problem”). But our bandwith is max 2 Mbit/sec.
Would you postfor me your configuration for the SR5?!
We use Mikrotik 298 level5.
Another question: How can I use CF card in RB532? Just put in and???
Try changing the data rates from default to configured and then select a stable data rate. To further explain, start by unchecking 54mbps, see if that keeps the AP from fluctuating as much, then continuously go through the list till the data rate “locks in”..
When data rates fluctuate as you describe it increases latency over the link and bandwidth is not as stable as it should be. If you do as I suggested latency will decrease and you should be able to get more bandwidth through your link.
That should be all you need to do..
