RB Crossroads - superchannel license

Hi all
i have like 6 RB CR and it was V3 then i upgrade it to V4 assuming that i can use the super channel but it i dint work so i did upgrade to extra channels also i still have the same issue i cant change the country or the frequency mode it says not allowed

my country sets to US.Crossroads and the Freq Mode is regulatory domain.

Can any one help

Thanks

but it i dint work

I doubt that. You had to configure it:

  1. After upgrading to v4.9 set wireless mode to “superchannel”
  2. Choose a new frequency
  3. In the client device, add this frequency to the “scan list” setting

Thanks for your replay

please see the attached photos and it is the same after i upgrade to 4.9

Thanks

You probably have a Crossroads from a protected region (USA). In order to void all locks, and use it at your own risk and responsibility, reinstall it with Netinstall and you will be free to use all settings.

Many thanks for your respond i will try it and inform you
how can i make like these protection ? im very interested int it as i have over than 120 x86 wireless antenna installed all over my location

Thanks

sorry, this can only be made by manufacturer

I can by it directly from MT ready like that is these is what you mean?

Thanks

you want to lock your routers to certain frequency, so that the router admin can’t change it?

Yes
because i make a customized devices x86 to be a wireless antenna and 3G routers etc so after we sell it some users upgrade it to v 4 and start using the Superchannel and these thing make a problem to us.

Thanks

currently we don’t have this available to users, but we will think about it.

hi again,

i used net-install ver 4.9 ,4.8 ,3.3 and 3.2 but it didn’t work i cant see the RB on the netinstall at all , my windows is 7 ultimate

Thanks

I think you need to unplug all other remaining port on your mikrotik devices other than your own laptop/pc connected to it,then assign your own laptop/pc an ip address for example : 10.1.1.10/netmask 255.0.0.0 / gateway empty/dns empty,on the netinstall software, pick netbooting->tick boot server enabled->10.1.1.5 . and then restart your devices, check on your serial connection before it’s booting press enter then ‘o’ and ‘e’ to boot over the internet after it done change the boot order setting again with ‘o’ and then ‘o’. And other best practice is to format your nand which is available on boot menu settings(make sure to make backup before formatting this as all of the setting will be lost!).

thats what i did but didnt wrk as netinstall didnt show the RB on it .

i think the issue is in windows7 ii will install winxp on othere PC and give it a tray.

Thanks for your advice

Finally it did work and i installed the new 4.9 BUT the issue naw is that the RB is asking me for a new licence and i cant install the old one (copy n past doesn’t work).

then i downgrade it to v 3.3 but the issue still the same and when ever i click on update key from winbox it coms back to me saying invalid licence. so was my formating the nand in order to remove the old setting made me lose my licence? keeping in mind that i did order these items from MT directly.

What can i do now??

email support with serial number of your crossroads (on sticker) and the new SoftID that RouterOS shows you.

i will do it and i think i will e-mail them all my CR Soft ID’s so thy can help me one time

or shall i wait till thy solve the 1st one?

Thanks

do not format the NAND ever !

to upgrade, FTP the packages and reboot. This will keep the license. After you are at RouterOS v4.9, use Netinstall to erase the Frequency Lock.

Thanks a lot for your help

Can you advice me how to do the erasing of the frequency lock?

I described it in one poste above yours

I will keep looking for it as I didn’t see it

Thanks
