Hi all
i have like 6 RB CR and it was V3 then i upgrade it to V4 assuming that i can use the super channel but it i dint work so i did upgrade to extra channels also i still have the same issue i cant change the country or the frequency mode it says not allowed
my country sets to US.Crossroads and the Freq Mode is regulatory domain.
You probably have a Crossroads from a protected region (USA). In order to void all locks, and use it at your own risk and responsibility, reinstall it with Netinstall and you will be free to use all settings.
Many thanks for your respond i will try it and inform you
how can i make like these protection ? im very interested int it as i have over than 120 x86 wireless antenna installed all over my location
Yes
because i make a customized devices x86 to be a wireless antenna and 3G routers etc so after we sell it some users upgrade it to v 4 and start using the Superchannel and these thing make a problem to us.
I think you need to unplug all other remaining port on your mikrotik devices other than your own laptop/pc connected to it,then assign your own laptop/pc an ip address for example : 10.1.1.10/netmask 255.0.0.0 / gateway empty/dns empty,on the netinstall software, pick netbooting->tick boot server enabled->10.1.1.5 . and then restart your devices, check on your serial connection before it’s booting press enter then ‘o’ and ‘e’ to boot over the internet after it done change the boot order setting again with ‘o’ and then ‘o’. And other best practice is to format your nand which is available on boot menu settings(make sure to make backup before formatting this as all of the setting will be lost!).
Finally it did work and i installed the new 4.9 BUT the issue naw is that the RB is asking me for a new licence and i cant install the old one (copy n past doesn’t work).
then i downgrade it to v 3.3 but the issue still the same and when ever i click on update key from winbox it coms back to me saying invalid licence. so was my formating the nand in order to remove the old setting made me lose my licence? keeping in mind that i did order these items from MT directly.
