RB firmware update

Hi Forum

can not find the latest firmware for the RB. Maybe I am blind? I have looked at routerboard.com without success.

My board information:
[admin@AP1] /system routerboard> print
routerboard: yes
model: “112”
serial-number: “0F4D01D59AF7”
current-firmware: “2.6”
upgrade-firmware: “2.18”

why do you need to find it, it’s already there. type “upgrade” at that promt and it will upgrade to 2.18.

upgrade files are included in the routerboard.npk file.

Thanks normis, just confusing as the system says, 2.6 is installed. For me 2.18 is a downgrade, not an upgrade?!

For me 18 is bigger than 6

Your counting is right only if there is no decimal involved. In the weird decimal world, 2.6 is greater than 2.18 by 0.42. The number 2.6 is actually 2.60 but the last zero is remove for ease of understanding.

Take a calculator and subtract 2.18 from 2.6, you will definitely get a positive number. Do the reverse and you will get a negative number.

why in the world would anyone use decimals in version numbering? in version numbering there is the first version, the sixth version and the eighteenth version, look at my link on how MacOS is numbered. The same way.
