RB in loop

Dear friends,

My RB 951Ui 2HnD had problems after the reset process. The OS is restarting frequently every 5 to 10 seconds. The lights go out and the RB then restarts.
In the Windows 10 Network Settings, the connected network is shown and then immediately disconnects, that is, it follows the same problem as the RB.

Has anyone experienced this problem or can help solve it?

Thank you in advance.

Try netinstall.

Dear jarda,

It is not possible to perform the netinstall because the network connection does not stabilize to perform the procedure.

So, the port 1 is damaged?

A hardware damage (Ports or power) is the only reason to can’t perform a Netinstall.

Regards.

In this case, would it be possible to perform an OS update via serial cable?
I think it would be a possibility to recover RB.

Thank you very much.

I’ve had a number of similar cases. Last time yesterday. Neinstall has always helped.
Network should remain stable after entering Etherboot

The problem is that the ethernet connection does not stabilize (it is in a loop), so it is impossible to perform the netinstall.

Thanks regards.

  1. unplug the device from power
  2. press and hold the reset button and power up the device
  3. hold hold hold  ~15..20sec or until the device shows up in Netinstall

Dear yancho,
This procedure has already been performed unsuccessfully.

If Netinstall can’t help, you can’t do anything.

Regards.

What do you think of doing the netinstall process via serial cable?

Regards.

Whrere you would like to plug the serial cable to?

I saw a tutorial teaching how to connect a cable adapted to perform the netinstall procedure.
It is a USB x Serial Cable connected to another Female Serial Cable x Ethernet, and USB is connected to the PC and Ethernet is connected to port 1 of the RB.
Is there a possibility to this procedure could occur successfully?

I am afraid that this device does not have serial port. Maybe plugging a switch between the netinstall server and the device might help you to perform netinstall over ethernet. Make sure you set everything right and don’t give up.

Ok jarda, thank you very much for your help.
