Thank You in advance.

More than half of the result are depending of the aria you are in and that clients you are using.

Leoktv is correct. New radio users always want hard facts but there aren’t many hard facts in rf except that there aren’t many hard facts.

I can talk from my experience. In the USA we would expect a useable range of about 10km from an 11dBi omni running 2.4GHz with a high power card and no line loss. That assumes no interference and high gain directional antennas at the subscriber end with clear line of site in the fresnel zone. The further you are from the AP, the less reliable the connection will become. Some people will say that they can get a connection 20km away but the reliability will be very poor.

In a noisy environment (high interference), that range can drop down to 5km and eventually become unuseable. Usually the first step in a noisy environment would be to get rid of the omni and use directional sector antennas and multiple AP radios to cover the needed areas.

Different counties have different rules for amount power that the radio can put out. So I am only speaking for radios running under USA FCC rules.

Good luck,

Tom

We have working links twice that length on 2.4

Thank You guys for your reply.

How about VoIP, Is it OK?
Who is The best (regerdin VoIP also) 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz antena?

You need to read the Mikrotik manual, search around the forums, look for hardware reviews etc to find the answers.

Oh… thank You. You are so helpful.
