RB-Sextant Reset Switch

Hi All,

i’m trying to reset the RB711 in the RB-Sextant, but without to open the case I don’t reach the switch reset button ; I have read the instruction manual when it says :

“RouterBOOT reset button (access through the plastic door) has two functions”

The question is : what is the “plastic door”? I don’t see nothing hole to access in.

Can I break the plastic case ? And after how can close the hole ?

you are right, manual is wrong, we will correct it. you need to open the box to reach the button.

my mikrotik distributor sent me a used sextant with password, I had to open the case to reset the equipment.
Is a very bad solution, i lost warranty?

No, opening the case will not lose warranty.

Hi,

Can someone offer any advice on how to open the Sextant case to get to the reset switch. The plastic seems very soft and I don’t want to damage it.

I got the following reply from MikroTik Support:

Hello,

We are aware of this Sextant design drawback, but you should not try to open
Sextant’s enclosure because clips are very tight and enclosure may get damaged.

Use a flat screwdriver to press reset button on RB711 side. It is a little bit
tricky but it can be done if Sextant is on the desk.
