RB SXT-5HPnD not keeping settings

Hi,

We use some SXT-5HPnD devices. Two of them do not keep their settings after a reboot or power toggle.
Anyone any suggestions? Is this a hardware fault and should we consider them as lost?

Do they lose some settings, or all of them? Is the device like from factory, when you reboot it?
Possibly the Reset button has some water or corrosion and device thinks it is pressed (so it does a reset). You can use some PCB cleaner to clean it, or, if there is heavy corrosion, maybe some soldering is needed.

They lose all the settings and appear like factory. I have already cleaned the reset contacts which didn’t help.
They have been outside for some years so yes could easily be corrosion. What can you suggest to solder?

If there is no visible damage, there is no specific suggestion.

I have already checked for specific damage and did not find anything serious,
so I am afraid it’s a hardware defect. Memmory chip?

Hard to say. I suggest to contact the seller, if you are out of warranty, they can provide a detailed repair guide.

The reset button is the problem not reset contacts. This is a well know design problem.

What do you suggest? Remove this button?

Now one of the devices does a factory default on each boot, like the reset hole is “pressed”, confirmed by the sound.
Time to buy some new devices…

Useless reply which is confusing for the others…
As i said this device is broken… during boot it makes the sound that indicates that the reset hole is “pressed”, this means a hardware defect…
