Does anyone here have tried an RB1000 as L3 gigabit campus backbone solution?
Do you guys having any notable performance experiences in gigabit routing and switching using this platform?
I’m trying to trunk bunch of Linksys fiber optic-based gigabit vlans (ring topology) using this RB1000 hardware - and do a lot of policies on it (excluded web-proxying), and as future expansion - I am planning to put some dynamic routing over it.
The standard RB1000 comes with 512MB RAM, and fixed 4x1Gbps RJ45 ethernet interface - do I need to upgrade it to 1GB, or should I just build a PC-based ROS for modularity?
So, if you guys do have any performance experiences at all - do please let me know.
