RB1000 reset problem: urgent help

I have read all posts on reset but i still cant get it to boot. It only shows blue indicator light & does not boot. I cant connect through the serial console yet. I have made a cable according to the pinouts in the console section but its not clear which goes into the router. Someone kindly help

Don’t you have any computer specialists in range?
Which pin-out did you use for the serial cable? How are you trying to connect? Putty? Give me details, I will help.

I’m not a novice with computers. Used both putty & realterm. Using a win7 os. Was able to make the serial cable but got no info when connected to the rb1000 console. Baud, bit etc are correct. Did a software reset but still no response.

If you’re sure you’re connecting right and do not get console output kick it back to the distributor and get a replacement and that board is defective.

Incidentally, the first ever RouterBOARD I purchased was bad. It drove me nuts that I couldn’t connect to it because I had nothing to compare to and couldn’t be 100% sure I was doing it right. Eventually I processed an RMA and the replacement worked just fine.

Connected using the hardware flow control 8 pinout (no loop).

Nice for you but i dont think i can get a replacement that easily. It was purchased in the UK about 2yrs ago &taken to West Africa. it had been in service for about a year.

When and how did it fail ?
