RB1000 with MetaRouter restarting after 3.28 upgrade

Hi,

Just experienced that problem, after upgraded my RB1000 to 3.28 the board dont stop restarting! I tryed with a zero config board with 3.28 too and when
I create a metarouter board reboots and keep booting forever. Tested on two boards!

Jorge

please connect a console and check what you see when the board reboots.
How many metarouters you created and with what settings?

uldis,

I can do it now because all my RB1000 are in production (using 3.27). But it happened right after was created the first mr. I got a new card, put 3.28 and
created a MetaRouter.

Yes, it looks like a bug, we will try to fix it.

I can confirm this.

RB1000, new out of the box, with 2x 8Gb Kingston CF cards installed. Upgraded to 3.28, did some basic configuration (3 firewall rules, 3 NAT rules, NTP, 1x Bridge), as soon as I create a metarouter, the RB1000 reboots infinitely.

The console doesn’t show anything strange: Just the normal BIOS, followed by a normal kernel startup, followed by a login prompt, then reboots immediately. I only manage to get as far as entering the username, the board reboots by the time it shows the password prompt.

Also confirmed with three different RB1000 and release 3.28, reboots and continues in loop after creating metarouter.

Is 3.29 with a butfix around the corner or should i downgrade?

Does anyone know if this bug was solved on 3.29 or 3.30?

I searched the 3.x Changelog and it does not appear as a bug or as solved

MBR !3runo

in v3.30 this bug is already fixed.

Anyone else tried this out? I need to set up an OpenWRT on an RB1000 in another country.

If you can, you might want to try 4.3

I had reboot-loops with 3.28 as well, and skipped 3.30 for 4.2
In 4.2 the RB1000 hung every few days with enabled metarouters.
With 4.3 it seems to work a lot better, i upgraded when 4.3 came out, and it didn’t hang up since then.
for the record, i have somewhere between 2 and 5 Metarouters on that RB1000 running (depends on what I’m playing around with  )

However I only run RouterOS Metarouters, didnt try any WRT stuff.

This unit is half way around Europe away from me, so I really can’t afford it hanging or getting into a reboot loop.

I upgraded to 3.30 since after 31 revisions, v3 is pretty stable by now… 4 revisions of v4 means it’s still an early beta in my books.

For future readers:

just tested MetaROUTER on the RB1000 running v3.30, works fine. This same RB1000 had the reboot-loop problem with v2.28.
