Have got two RB1100. Will call them RB1 and RB2. Did my original setup on RB1 and backed it up. Did some more changes that broke my internet and restored backup on RB1. Hotspot did not restore. Copied backup to RB2 and restored. Every thing restored including hotspot. Did backup on RB2 and copied to RB1 and restored. Hotspot did not restore. Might be some more stuff that did not restore, but picked up Hotspot. Reset config on RB1 and restored. Had the same problem. If i export RB2 to a file and import it back on RB1, hotspot restores. Any ideas on this? Can’t find any problem with RB1 and function, but i am a bit worried because something is obviously not right.
The configuration backup can be used for backing up MikroTik RouterOS configuration to a binary file, which can be stored on the router or downloaded from it using FTP for future use. The configuration restore can be used for restoring the router’s configuration, exactly as it was at the backup creation moment, from a backup file. The restoration procedure assumes the cofiguration is restored on the same router, where the backup file was originally created, so it will create partially broken configuration if the hardware has been changed.
Taking a binary backup on RB1 and restoring it on RB2 is not supported. I know, it worked for you, just saying.
Thanks fewi, that did the trick and set the CPU also a bit faster and to answer you dssmiktik, you understood perfect and under model it is blank but the cpu is e500v2 if that helps.
