I need a 19" IPv4 router doing simple NAT (i.e. two interfaces, 1 public IP address, 2000 private IP addresses) and I need throughput. Real 1 Gbit/s would be great.
The router itself doesn´t have to do e.g. firewalling, so just NATing.
Well I found the RB1100U which price is simply great. Now the question, what about the performance? What throughput will I get?
it is not tested as it is highly unreliable number and depends on how much new connections you have what is pps rate etc.
My estimate is that it consumes about the same amount of processing power as any other /ip firewall entry, like nat, mangle etc. And depends how many matchers you have in the rule.
