Hello,
I have been noticing a lot of trouble recently with RouterBoards. I say ‘recently’ because I don’t remember seeing these issues before (maybe I’ve been a sleep for a long time!).
I have 2 RB1100’s connected together with about 15 feet of GigE ethernet CAT 5e. When I run a bandwidth test between the two units using UDP, I usually get approx ~950mbps (both TX/RX). When I run that same test again using TCP, I seem to only achieve ~125mbps ![]()
Both units are running 5.24 with 3.02 firmware. I have tried this with other hardware and cables (so it’s not specific to these two units)
I have various mikrotik gear available to me for lab testing including a CCR1036.
Is anyone experiencing the same trouble? Reason this is a problem, if I do the same test using 10/100 ports at 100mbps, using UDP I get ~99mbps TX/RX and with TCP 95mbps/58mbps. When a customer goes to speedtest.net, they see nearly exact same results. Looks bad on us ![]()
