my latest topic is locked from MikroTik, is 1100AHx2 a fault project?
I propose to all 1100AHx2 users to:
1- return back the device for Nand memory upgrade
2- return back the device for money refuse
It’s crazy to have a very wonderfull device with this limitation…

It’s incredible that even the re-sellers like roc-noc.com have not stepped up and provided clearer description of what the product is/not capable off. I’m sure there are plenty of people who are ok with 41.7MB of storage - why not include that in the description and keep all of the customers happy?
As for me, Mikrotik support have somehow cleared cached(?) files so now, with 10 packages installed, I have 27MB free which is enough for my needs (w/o that it would have been a disaster). Nonetheless, if I have not destroyed the packaging I would’ve most likely returned the unit - since I’m pretty sure that the next batch will have more flash (you can only go only larger from here 
)

Dude and Metarouter are not supported on this device anyway. What do you need the extra space for?
At the time of purchase MetaROUTER was supported, Dude was not supported on any pcc platform but that it that it will be in the future (now, with so little flash, it will not be), usermanager, graphs, logs and backups. Btw, The Dude’s home page still shows that PCC RB1000 platform is supported.
It would be great if Mikrotik expanded the brochure’s specifications to explicitly state which functions are supported and how much HDD space is being offered. It would lead to more informed decisions and less resentment. Thank you.
Be warned, both RB1100AHx2 and RB1100AH (x1) have this small flash.
I’ve just bought a RB1100AH specifically because it had 512MB NAND flash according to the distributor (while they say the x2 has 64MB), compare:

And the RB1100AH (x1) supports Metarouter (didn’t work initially, but I found on this forum how to fix it: upgrade to 5.14 then downgrade to 5.12 and upgrade to 5.14 again) so it could really use more flash for openwrt images. Any hope for using microSD for that?
And, it’s a pity that the “flagship” 1100AHx2 can do less than the x1 - Metarouter, if supported, could make good use of the dual core CPU. Right now, the only good use for the x2 I can see is a BGP router (lots of RAM for the full routing tables).
Exactly how much NAND does the 1100Ahx2 have? 64mb??? 48mb???
I don´t care for the small NAND if RouterOS can boot from microSD.
RouterOS can not boot from microSD, but there is no need to have more storage for RouterOS. Proxy and logs can be stored on microSD, and Metarouter isn’t even supported on the RB1100AHx2, so you have no reason for more NAND size.

Depends on how many packages you install. You can install only System package, if you don’t need dynamic routing, wireless and others.
