Hello, Everyone I am new here. I hope to meet everyone here. I’ve been using Mikrotik Router Over a year now. I am somewhat decent, I am not a pro. I need some help with some issues I am having.
I work for a company does network support for hotels. We install our equipment at hotels, and we setup the wireless and wired. We support a lot of hotels through out the U.S.
I notice at times user have issues seeing the " hotspot login " We use a TOS ( Terms Of Service Page) for them to login. It’s either they can enter a Access Code or they will just click on " Access Internet".
We use ETH1 as the WAN - 74.x.x.x.x
We use Eth 10 as the LAn . 192.168.0.0/24
We use Ruckus Access Points for the wireless.
We use some Netgear - GS728TP Switches as well.
Depending on the setup and the location. We use VLANs for specific things at times we don’t.
Now At times we have issues where guest can’t see the TOS page. We have issues with guest having to re-authenticate . ( idle-timeout). This is correct.
Every 30 min, some guest would complain, but the idle-time is correct. ( not sure what could be causing this )
Also the guest would complain about slow speeds. For example : We support this hotel that has a 100/100 Fiber Line.
We would cap the bandwidth limit for 3Mbps/3Mbps. There is over 150 devices in the Active users, and some of them still complain.
We don’t have a tree queue or anything like that, to prioritize to see what stuff would get more speed or anything like that.
ALso, I need help setting up blocking p2p,torrenting, etc like. I want to create some rules for that as well.
