RB1100AHx2 vs 2x RB/2011L-RM

Hi everyone! I write for your wisdom.
I want to implement Mikrotik in a hotel.
What recommend me for 150 client with a configuration of queues tree and hotspot? One RB1100AHx2 or two RB2011L-RM?

I think in two RB2011 for balance the cpu load (one running the queues tree and the other the hotspot). Maybe one can do all the work alone.

There is a big difference of money, with the costs of half RB1100 i can buy the two RB2011
The goal is to spend money efficiently.
Thank you all for your advices!

It’s all about traffic and you didn’t said what speeds do you have and expect to serve. For 50mbps it’s enough one 2011.

Sorry for me lack of information.

I have three WAN (down/up)

  • 6/6 (Mb)
  • 12/1.5 (Mb)
  • 12/1.5 (Mb)

and to LAN I will serve (with PCQ) all traffic available or maybe use a max-limit of 3Mb/800Kb, I don´t know yet.

Some internal clients will share data between them through wifi (54Mbps theoric)

Thank!

One RB2011/ROS6.x alone will be OK with standart Hotspot+Simple Queue

I already bought it. This weekend goes into production. The moment of truth… I will post here the result.
Thank you!

Dont´t forget to post the results!

if there isn’t a rush maybe wait for RB850gx2 instead a bit ?
its had twin-cored chip(e500based 32-bit, sadly. not a e5500), which despite lower clocks than 2020 used in 1100, fully-support DPAA, and thus - more seriously benefited from FastPath, despite that.
p.s.
dunno why MikroTIk not go for T1022 or T1042 instead(probably too hot or too costly)of P1023, would make more attractive product, despite price increase. e6500-based things, sadly - presented only by fat multi-core P-things.

and two years later here I am…

One RB2011L-RM was plenty enough. Thanks all for the recommendations.
Regards,

Some configuration used:

  • Queue tree using the 8 levels
  • two LAN (no traffic between them)
  • two WAN (10/3, 10/1,5)
  • HOTSPOT 200 clients max.
  • VPN pptp server (2 clients)

Traffic:
WAN 40% average use
