After hitting EOL with another router, I’m switching one of our routers out for a RB100AHx4. I first learned on Cisco hardware, so I am just working through the different features to understand them better and because that was 10 years ago a little rusty. Mainly, I’m getting a little lost with the bridge/master port configuration and how the bypass and POE boot port work or what they do.
Setup and questions
1 WAN port - I am guessing I should pick Eth11 or ETH 12 for this? Do I need to bridge the ports to get the traffic to the CPU to route?
Eth6-Eth10(DMZ)- Do I need to bridge ETH6 to let some port forwards through to this subnet/switch group? I tried setting one up, and the Master port option was not showing in Winbox so I didn’t know if I was doing that correctly or if I have to open up the terminal and set it up..
ETH1-5- I want those to be able to reach the WAN, and have some IP ports open from ETH6-10. If I bridge/master port these, is that just a route and a FW rule to allow at that point?
Any help you all could give would be greatly appreciated.
