RB1100U and port hang-ups

We have a RB1100U as a concentrator for ~25 EoIP tunnels and as DHCP server for 700 users.
From the very beginning there was a problem with it, it would randomly stop working for all ports in group 1 (ether1-ether5) - while the rest would be operational.

Swapping for another RB unit didn’t solve the problem.

Software tested:
4.9 with fw 2.26 and 4.10 wuth fw 2.27 - all with same results.

We need support on this matter.

Thank you in advance.

Try MikroTik RouterOS version 5.0beta3.

Although it is not mentioned in the change log, it was supposed to have fixed your well known problem.

If you don’t want to run beta, wait for ROS version 4.11.

What is the ETA for the solution? One day, two days?

I would try the beta which you can download now.

MT is now closed for the weekend so we won’t see their stable until Monday at the earliest and probably much later than that.

Tom

I did update to 5.0b3, the PROBLEM PERSISTS.

Any ideas?

I think beta3 fixes port hangups of ports 11-13. So, if you don’t use all 5 ports on group1 perhaps you could move your clients to those ports.

Also, while you’re waiting for a fix you could get some more troubleshooting data by swaping group1 with group2 and see if problem persists on group1 or has moved to group2…

Please generate supout.rif file when problem occurs and send to support@mikrotik.com together with the description of the problem.

The supout.rif file was sent by my authorised distributor of your products to you,
I know that there’s a ticket open for the problem in question.

As rmichael suggested - I have moved ports from group 1 to 2 and ports 11-12 and so far there’s no recurrent problem for 17 hours and counting, so it may seem to be a temporary fix.
