Hi there,
I’m using a brand new RouterOS 5.18 on a RB11AH with no configuration.
When I connect a device to the ETH1 on RB1100AH, i see ether3 Running on Winbox.
When I connect a device to the ETH3 on RB1100AH, i see ether5 Running on Winbox. And so on on all Ethernet interfaces.
What’s going on?
We are seeing this too. I logged a ticket with Mikrotik 2 weeks ago. Ticket#2012061166000261
It would be a good idea for you to log a ticket with support@mikrotik.com
It seems a similar problem. After I unbxed the RB1100AH I’ve updated from 5.8 to 5.18 but I can’t remember if I was having the same probelm on interface nubers on 5.8.
I think I started at 5.8 out of the box. It did not do this until I put 5.18 on there. I Did reset it several times out of the box. I did not use every firmware in between.
Let the hunt begin…
I think I had 5.12 in there and reset it several times when I first unboxed it.
Researched it… don’t think I reset it when I had 5.16 on it.
Hi there,
I’ve got an answer from Mikrotik.
Here is it:
The naming problem appears on RB1100 series and RB1200 boards when configuration is reset or clean RouterOS v5.18 is installed.
We are working to fix this for the next RouterOS version.
