RB112 CPE connecting to RB532 AP errors

This is the log from the CPE:

jan/13 17:45:33 wireless,info 00:15:6D:::@wlan1: lost connection, no beacons
jan/13 17:45:35 wireless,info 00:02:6F:
::@wlan1: failed to connect,
assoc failed: association denied for unknown reason (12)
jan/13 17:45:35 wireless,info 00:15:6D:::**@wlan1 established connection
on 2412, SSID XXXX

The logs in the AP only see the CPE disconnect and reassociate.
I have some clients on this AP which have been up for 10-20 days and other bounce for no reason every couple of hours.

What is unknown reason (12), can it help me determine and repair the problem?

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks :confused:

Link not very helpful – webpage says absolutely nothing about “unknown reason” reason.

Turns out a lot of time this is a problem with “default authenticate” needing to be on, or an entry needed in the wireless Access List.

… after 10 years …

I came to the forum looking for an answer to the “unknown reason” problem. This was the most relevant posting, but there was no answer. When I found the answer myself, I left it here. It’s a work habit from 20 years spent in customer service positions. It won’t help the original poster, but it will help the next guy who comes looking.

Nice approach to dig the old bodies and resurrect them… The night of the living deads can begin.

If you google

“denied for unknown reason” mikrotik

this is the post that comes up, so ten years old or not, people having this problem are going to come here.
