running rb112 nmp-8602 radio 2.9.44 basic config and keep getting:
“Console has crashed or maybe system is completely busy; please log in again.”
when trying to start a terminal session from within winbox, telnet to the box or on the serial console port.
did the same thing with sr2 radio card and other rb112 cards.
very basic hotspot config.
can’t do full export, router locks and reboots IF i manage to get a terminal session going.
console runs sluggish as hell when i can get a prompt but no load on system is showing.
is this a bug in 2.9.44?

It is not a good idea to run HotSpot on RB112, try to disable all unused packages on router.
we have done exactly that, usage of the rb112 was sanctioned by a MT reseller. no worries, we’ll switch them out and replace them with RB532A and reuse the rb112’s elsewhere.
will the RB532A work ok as a Hotspot?

532’s work great as hotspot devices..
Just keep in mind who many users at one time…
More users, more resources..
Don’t load ANY un needed packages.. Save CPU, Save RAM… = more happy clients..

yes, we remove all unnecessary packages
the most we’d have at any time would be ~20 users
looks like we may have to go to a micro pentium x86 solution next
