I am thinking about changing my RB1200 for more powerful and - some say - more robust RB1100AHx2. But since I am talking about production environment, I’d need some advice:
1.) First of all, if routerOS and FW versions on both devices would be the same, is it 100% sure that also configuration from RB1200 will 100% work stable on new RB1100AHx2?
2.) If you compare RB1200 and RB1100AHx2 regarding reliability and long lifespan, which one would you say is better? Or which one will have less trouble, less problems?
Just one other thing - what do you guyz think about this HEALTH monitor - are these values good for long-term running, or should I forcefully dissipate heat on my RB1200:
Voltage 12.2 V
Temperature 45 C
CPU Temperature 61 C
today I tried my new RB1100AHx2 to restore to config of my old RB1200. But there are some weird things I noticed:
1.) Router Firmware are NOT the same on both, maybe this is the cause of my troubles:
RB1100AHx2 has firmware 2.39 (it was bought with this fw)
RB1200 has firmware 2.38 (there is no newer fw released)
2.) When I push old config from RB1200 to new RB1100AHx2, at least this is wrong:
Port eth0 (physical) suddenly turned into eth5 (in interface).
I mean, I have cable plugged into eth0, but via WebGUI it shows as it is eth5, and also counts traffic on eth5.
Any idea?
Might this be because of different FW versions?
Or is it incompatibility between routers?
Look for MACs and rename the etherX as needed. There are some problem with interface names order in 1100AHx2. perhaps this is another issue. But I think is not important if you can rename the interfaces.
