Hello,
I picked up a RB1200 Mikrotik RouterBoard, and have been experiencing some issues setting up an initial configuration.
I have been referencing this guide, and have followed it to the letter several times to no avail…
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Initial_Configuration#Static_IP_Address
I can successfully configure the DHCP Client, and do get an IP/DNS info from my ISP. I can’t seem to get the DHCP server in the router configured correctly, to allow LAN clients access to the network/internet. The router is not handing out addresses to the clients I have attached to it.
I think I have my issue narrowed down to a NAT configuration problem and/or a DNS issue, not really sure…
I am hoping that someone my have a “basic” rb1200 config script I can restore to this device to get it up and running, or a more straight forward approach to configuring this device correctly.
Beating my head against the wall for weeks trying to figure this out.
Also, my rb450 came pre-configured as a basic router that worked out of the box with minimal configuration, very curious why the rb1200 does not have this…
Thanks for any help/advice you can toss my way.
