Hi,
The requirement is to have unique vlan for each switch port (cisco) connected to user pc.
this switch will connected to RB1200 as gateway for routing/hotspot and DHCP.
Total of switch port now is more than 100, means RB1200 now have more than 100 VLAN created at his eth2.
Currently, I have combined all the VLANs into a bridge. And point dhcp server to the bridge. Its worked but I figured out sometimes
user cant bound their IP and the DHCP is offering the lease.
This can be solved by disable and re-enable back the particular vlan that user connected to.
I’m looking for any permanent solution/idea and perhaps the proper way on how to deliver the project based on the requirement.
Thanks in advance.
Dividing customers in to separate VLANs and then bridging these VLANs together at the router is illogical. In that case you are better out without any VLANs and make a SWITCH configuration that restricts Client-to-Client
Btw, today i found that L2MTU (1596) in mikrotik is greater than my cisco 2950 MTU (1500).
This can explain that my vlan tag bit is probably fragmented during the transmission. And without the vlan, the dhcp broadcast is not received by client.
I also can saw a lot of Tx Packets dropped on the VLAN interface.
Please advice if I should reduce it in mikrotik setting or increase it in cisco side.
Your helps is much appreciated.
We tried to connect Mikrotek haplite RD 850 but we are facing the below issue. If any suggetions or solutions would be greatful.
DHCP offering lease 172.16.0.164 for 98:oc:a5:17:2b:od without success
When ever we are getting this warning, users are lost the connnection with AP that connected to Haplite,
