Hi,
We’re trying to configure a RB133 to work with our network, however so far we are unsuccessful.
We currently have a network of 10 computers. They all receive their internet connection from a D-Link Wireless DSL Router (it runs DHCP), and are in the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet. We want to add the RB133 as a new access point to the network.
I have attempted the following setup:
The device is connected wired to our network via “ether2” (it has received the DHCP address of 192.168.1.13).
I set the RB133’s wireless mode to “ap bridge” and given it (wlan1) an IP of 192.168.1.100 (also tried 192.168.2.1). Clients are able to connect to the access point, but they do not receive any “default gateway” information. I have setup DHCP-relay and pointed it at 192.168.1.1 both for the wireless interface and the wired.
I have tried disabling the DHCP-relay and turning on a DHCP-server (this is when I tried the 192.168.2.0/24 subnet for the RB133). Clients then received addresses, but were still unable to connect to the internet.
We just want clients to be able to connect to the access point and get on the internet.
Can someone please help? We have until Friday when we must return the router (it is currently on loan to us for trial to decide to purchase or not). I suspect the problem may lie in NAT or ARP, but I am unsure exactly what to specify. Perhaps it is something else?
