RB133 net install failure

I have one RB133, after i format it in Boot Menu, can’t boot it into netinstall.

RouterBOOT booter 2.19
RouterBoard 133
CPU frequency: 175 MHz
Memory size: 32 MB
Press any key within 6 seconds to enter setup…
kernel not found
trying bootp protocol… OK
Got IP address: 192.168.7.10
resolved mac address 00:30:18:A3:F5:A7

.
.
.
falling back to small packet size
.
.
.
kernel loading failed

I’ve changed several PC or Notebook, no firewall, no antivirus software, all are the same result.
(
serial cable use 2,3,5 or make one according to the wiki
no dhcp on lan
pc link dirctly to rb133
change nic speed to 10M full
use individual nic,not onboard nic
use netinstall 3.30, 4.17
)

And I try to change the bootloader to 2.18, upgrade form boot menu use 2.18, use file:

http://www.routerboard.com/files/rb-2.18/adm5120-2.18.fwf

But bootloader still is 2.19.

When i press reset and power on, bootloader is 2.5, and get same result as above.

Any thing is help?

I have had that problem a few times, but almost always the problem is resolvable. Here is what I would do.
1st - Connect with serial and set the RouterBoard to boot to ethernet (Leave the serial connection in place the entire time.)
2nd - Set the IP address of the PC to 10.10.10.10 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 10.10.10.1. DNS values can be anything or nothing.
3rd - Open up Netinstall and click on the “Net booting” button. Set the Client IP address to 10.10.10.1 and make sure that there is a check in the Boot Server enabled box.
4th - Reboot the router so that it now tries to boot off of the ethernet connection. Net Install will pass the IP address of 10.10.10.1 to the RouterBoard and the RouterBoard will display this through the serial connection.

Hope this helps. If you need more help with this, feel free to call us.

Thanks for your reply.
Do as you say, still failure, message is same as above.

I have tried to use one notebook boot from PC running netinstall 4.17, and netinstall could see the notebook. So there is nothing wrong with my PC and my setting. But RB133 can’t boot into netinstall with this PC.

Perhaps the RB133 really became a brick.

its bit tricky to get it recover , if you want to resolve , let me know
