RB133 wireless deauth problem

Hello everyone,

I am new to RouterOS and routerboards, received my first set of boards just a few days ago. So far I am really impressed with the software features and functionality, especially for the price!

I have a RB133 set up at home using a WPA2-PSK security profile. While clients connect fine all the time, occasionally a client gets bumped and it logs this error. It happens randomly, sometimes minutes apart and sometimes hours, and it happens to multiple clients throughout the day. The wireless card is a R52H set to run at 20 dBm. The client signal strength always looks quite nice, although I so far have not caught it at the exact instant that it logs the 4-way handshake timeout to see if the signal is low at that instant.

Has anybody ran across this problem before?

Hi redrobot, Here is a link that explains all of the wireless debug prints http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Wireless_Debug_Logs that tells you what it is and why, I dont have your problem so i cant tell you from experience, just give you this good wiki the mikrotik team made, and if you want a more detailed Log print Use this …

Thanks for the tips. I looked at the Wiki for wireless error messages but this 4-way handshake message is not explained there. I did enable debug on the wireless interface but it doesn’t reveal much more information. Here is the latest log.

Has anybody ran into this periodic client disconnect due to the 4-way handshake error?

what kind of authentication are you using? usermanager? radius? or nothing? I get the banned rejected part when a MAC address im trying to connect to the network with isnt in the MAC address’s list or usermanager.


If all else fails i see on other fourms where they say “change the card Change the card” so if all else fails maybe that will work.. -Jordan
