Hello.
Upgraded from rc9 to rc11 and got strange problem with RB150 built-in switch: as soon as I linking some interfaces together (for example setting ether1 as main-port for ether2) all IP packets are dropped for this IP (assigned to ether1). Telnet/pings/everything. As soon as you remove main-port setting for ether2 - it works again.
Thanx.
The problem still present in 3.0rc13. May be I should clarify it: the 3.0 version ROS supports the switch functionality (called “master-port” at ethernet interfaces options) built-into RB1xx series (RB150 for me), so I could combine several ethernet ports to perform like a switch having one-MAC address. However it seems this functionality is broken since the rc11, I will post the easiest setup to show this:
consider you have two ethernet interfaces ether1 and ether2. add the IP address for the ether1 interface. router will respond to pings and work ok on this port. open ether2 interface options, and set master-port to the ether1. that’s it: after this the router will stop responding to pings and perform routing on both ether1 and ether2 (hower MAC-winbox will still work).
Everything works ok at rc9.
p.s. I’ve managed to get it to work somehow, by setting ether2 as master-port for ether1 (with IP address / dhcp server etc still assigned to ether1, and strange thing - it works), but this configuration is pretty unstable.
no chance to get support? huh
and I was wrong, there is no way to make it work right at rc11-13.
