I’m having trouble with my RB2011. It began rebooting spontaneously the other day. It goes through cycles of powering on. Video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqNK4IZTs_E
I’ve attempted re-installing the firmware via netinstall but I can’t get the device to appear in the Routers/Drives menu. In one attempt, I left the device on, the lcd screen showed ‘ether boot’, the link light on ether1 flashed for a few minutes and then it entered the reboot cycle again.
In the video, the lcd screen shows a couple of status messages. Those messages, in order, in case the video isn’t clear enough are: “routerboot configuration”, “Ether boot”, “loading kernal from nand” and then the power cycle.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Bryce
You probably did wrongly netinstall procedure. Switch off firewall and antivirus. Set ip address manually. Run netinstall as admin. Connect cable to ether1. Hold reset and power the device. Don’t release reset until you see the device in netinstall.
had the same issue today updating RB2011 to 6.49, infinite boot loop showing until I unpluged eth 1 and 5 and got stuck on ether boot.
Solved using Netinstall https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Netinstall
-with latest NPK 6.49 (Stable),
-checked “Keep old configuration”,
-upload and reboot successfully.
I has RB 2011 with cyclic reboot.
Help me disable windows firewall and defener and Don’t release reset until you see the device in netinstall.
Thx for advice Jarda
