I have a new Mikrotik router and quite old now Freecom 750GB network drive. It does work ok when connected to another router, for an example Asus RT-N16, yet when just reconnecting to Mikrotik it fails to work. I can see in DHCP server lease entry - it starts at 00:30 drops to 00.28 and resets to again 00.30 or 00:31. So it is just like one, two seconds lease, surely something is going on, but no working solution.
Please help, hope to somehow reconnect my network drive - not to buy a new hardware when the old is still good (used under different router).
I can try it, but still do not understand - it works on Asus RT-N16 without any issues (no config needed, no set up of a fixed address ), yet when plugging into Mikrotik’s port eth10 - gives such problem. Thanks for suggestion I will try and come back.
If it’s an old network drive you can try adjusting what speeds are advertised to the device. I have seen issues where it effected other network equipment.
For instance only advertise 10/100MB.
