Hi,
I have to setup a router for a small hotel with a guest wifi. I’m new at mikrotik and also to VLAN, so I been trying to figure it and I spend a lot of time just to get lost in so many options and scenarios…
Also it’s posible in the future we’re going to need Dual-WAN for failover and balance but right now leave the Wan2 port unused would be enough.
The hotel used to have:
- Linksys E2500 Router, WAN: DHCP, LAN: 192.168.0.1
- D-Link DES-3026 switch, not sure if it’s setup to defaults or not
- VoIP Telephone system (recent installation, and manage by other guys),
- 2 Bullet antennas for the guest and office Wifi. One of those had recently fail.
We had installed yet:
- RB2011UiAS-RM, WAN: DHCP, LAN: 192.168.88.1
- 13 U-AP and some switches, due to hotel distribution. UAP’s IP not static but reserved.
- I’ve keep the E2500 temporary to have separated networks for guest and office
- I found in forum and wikis how to setup DynDNS and add rule in firewall to allow remote access to the RB2011.
- Took off the remaining Ubiquiti Bullet.
The goal:
- Since Office have wired and wireless devices and Guest only access through wifi, I guess VLan for Guest to keep isolated form office network could be the way.
- About Dual-Wan is not needed immediately.
- Keep the Office network at 192.168.0.1 because of the VoIP system.

Thanks in advance.
