RB2011 stopped working last night...

Hey guys,

So my rb2011 stopped working last night. I’m not entirely sure what happened, but I did all the “normal” things, power cycled all the hardware, reset everything, checked cables and all that.

So, a direct connection to my modem gives me Internet access, so that’s not an issue.

The router picks up my modem, and registers the external IP my ISP is giving me, along with the gateway.

I tried switching ports around, maybe it was a physical problem but I’ve tried eth2-6 and same thing.

So I thought maybe the configuration went wrong. I reset the router to factory and still nothing. It still registers the external IP and everything, just won’t route anything to any of the other ports.

I can access the router through winbox, and I used my phone to upgrade to 6.19. Still nothing…

Here’s the configuration file it’s running right now.

If someone can please tell me what’s going on and how to resolve this issue, it would be amazing.

Thank you!

Eth1 is where my modem is plugged in, and right now eth2 is my computer.

I removed everything else that was connected, so just those two are plugged in right now.

Here’s my post on reddit, if I update that one before this..

Check your routes. Sometimes find a dhcp-client to change routing tables. This might help.

Not entirely sure what you mean by that, can you elaborate?

The DHCP-client is correctly returning my ISP’s IP address, so the router is getting an IP from my modem, but the router can’t ping-out itself from terminal. Both IP/domain pings.

Can you ping 8.8.8.8?

Meaning a route can sometimes show but ‘cannot’ be pinged. Gives a blue colour I think as well.

No, I canno. I also set my dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 but still no luck.

The routes don’t show up blue as bvandenbremt said.

That’s good. A blue route is not reachable.
Black routes are reachable (or should be)

Have you configured NAT between LAN en WAN?

Make a plan how your network is.
Go to new terminal and type “export”
Post the result on this forum please

As of right now, I’m using the default configuration after a system reset. Eth1 is connected to my modem. Eth2 was connected to my PC. Everything else is disconnected.

Thank you!

OK, your problem is solved
Goodluck

Oh no, it’s not resolved! I did a system reset and it still does not work! That was the initial problem. It stopped working overnnight, I did a configuration reset to factory cause that should work, but no dice.

Is the modem from your ISP fine?

Maby put the power off and after 1 minute back on en see what happend

Yes, for now I have connected an E3000 to my network and Internet is working fine.

When I change the rb2011 to bridge mode (wisp ap bridge mode in quick set) I can access the Internet on eth2. When it’s set to router, I can’t access the Internet. I can ping my computer from the router terminal and from my computer, the router.

Use not quickset please i use Always winbox for this things.

What you realy want:

Where will you that DHCP-server is running
Routerboard ore ISP modem?

Will you set the whole mikrotik router as bridge?

Sorry for many quistions but try helping you

What exact routerboard you have?
