Hi all,
I’ve recently bought an RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN to be used as a main router for a small network on a farm. The main reason for this is to start using VLANS to distribute our guest network to all our APs (currently the guest network is on a completely separate physical network, with only 2 APs, which does not give enough coverage). We have a fiber connection between three buildings, mainly for galvanic separation, that is converted to copper at either end. The setup I’d like to achieve on the RB is this:
- Port 1: WAN
- Port 2-3: VLAN trunk
- Port 4-10: Untagged VLAN 1
- SFP: not used now, in the future will be either WAN or VLAN trunk
- WLAN: not used (I actually ordered the RB2011UAS-IN, but was sent the version with WiFi by mistake, so the seller said I could keep it as exchanging it would cost more than the difference between the types)
Could anyone tell me if this is even possible? And could you post some (hopefully simple) steps I can follow to set it up? I’d like to use WebFig to set it up, because it’d be easier to maintain for me.
I was expecting I could do this myself, having some experience with OpenWRT’s VLAN configuration, but I must say I was a bit overwhelmed by all the options in the WebFig interface of RouterOS.
Thanks,
Marten
