In RB2011il router having two switch chips -Atheros 8327,Atheros 8227! shall we use this two switch chips together in a group switch ?
Assuming that by writing “group switch” you mean bridge … you can either use two bridges, each covering ports from one of switch chips (both bridges will be HW offloaded) or you can use single bridge. You should be aware that either way, traffic passing from one switch to another will be handled by (slow) CPU. Which one you want (routing with two bridges or bridging with single bridge, the later slightly easier on CPU) is up to your use case.
Thank you for your reply! i mean not a two bridge group. i wanted to use one port as trunk which is from main inter vlan routing router and remaining 9 ports to use as access ports . so i wanted to make use them of two switch chips into a single switch group.
