RB2011UAS-2Hnd-IN Dead? Some advice before RMA

Hi all,

Whilst performing the initial config of my third Mikrotik ever this one decided to act up; before contacting the reseller and/or mikrotik for an RMA I’m looking for some advice.

Model: RB2011UAS-2Hnd-IN
I was rebooting the device for the third time (1 == RouterOS, 2==Bootloader, 3==POE) for the upgrade. Then console stopped last message was something like “Rebooting router…” then silence. Ethernet still came up, but no traffic what so ever. TCP Dump showed nothing on any port. LCD Panel not showing anything either.

Tried a config reset with a small philipshead in the bottom hole. Nothing, same symptoms. Only when I boot pressing the reset button the LCD screen shows the mikrotik logo but no boot messages.

More then willing to do an xmodem recovery, but either on 115k2 or 9k6 no output not even the 2 second message.

I think I did everything possible, but maybe due to inexperience I don’t fully understand the instructions.

P.S. Also tried netinstall; but the only windows around is on a VMWare instace, so whether it would ever work, not sure.

Hi Dobby,

Possibly I wasn’t clear. I had a working console connection before this happened. I tried several resets, netinstall and pxe boots afterwards. No luck, so send it in for RMA. Pending analysis on the reseller side. Hope to get it or a replacement back asap.
