Hello, I buy one transceiver Huawei HPSP2120, for GPON configuration. Power of the router, install the Gpon transceiver, power up the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN…does not start. There is any incompatibility between the two devices.
did you sure you get CORRECT SFP ?
ie proper band for transmit and receive and etc[such as having (open or encrypted)MAC adress &etc].
tried -Link or TP-Link counterparts ?
maybe simplt faulty device too, btw.
This Huawei HPSP2120 is not going to work. RB2011 supports only Active Optical Networks.
If you can get GPON ONU/ONT with integrated chip then it might work. There was only one manufacturer making those modules, but they were not in production yet. http://www.finisar.com/blogs/lightspeed/category/transceivers/
Mikrotik just release SFP GPON ONU module http://mt.lv/gpon , it says it is complatible with any standard SFP module. There is one ISP whihc provide GPON service, might think about about switching ISP.
I understand the enthusiasm but just be aware that if your ISP is large and is using equipment from a carrier-grade GPON vendor then the GPON management systems may well generate alarms if they see a non-vendor ONU/ONT on the PON. In such systems the provisioning often occurs all the way down to the ONU/OLT level.
I am a rookie when it comes to FTTH, so excuse me if I’m saying a nosense: wondering if that could be avoided if Mikrotik provided means to clone the original ONU/ONT ID?
The profiles of the devices may also vary. For example, one Calix ONT family has various models with varying numbers of Ethernet and phone ports each of which can be provisioned separately.
