Need yours help, about two months ago I bought RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN
(and began to learn, and this is my first router MikroTik),
I configured the router until yesterday everything worked fine until
users have started to copy itself wirelessly large files size of ~ 1GB or more
(now I’m using ROS v6.0) so:
With LAN upload files to a laptop with a large size such as 1 GB 1.5 GB …
on any connection speed on a laptop, the router begins to heat up,
it can be seen from WinBox “System-> Health” first temperature of 35 degrees Celsius
(normal operating temperature), then it is heated to 47 degrees and restart,
sometimes it occurs between 47 and 55 degrees, and it happens on this router
only when the transmission over a wireless connection, it heats up and reboots,
and so constantly, not just download something large through a wireless network,
but when receiving, all right, even with different file size, temperature 34-36 C
with This router and it works fine!
So this is the reason “RouterOS”, if I bought a router and a production flaw?
Please help understand this situation, because some clients can not download the files,
because the router is constantly heated and restarts!

So, I found the following (with MikroTik SUPPORT),
which is rebooting the router if it is clocked at 750 MHz,
if you change at least 700 MHz is fine, no reboots!
Some thoughts about why is not working at the frequency of 750 MHz?

Please, could someone check in with yourself RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN wirelessly transfer file(s) (about the size of ~ 10 GB), which realties notebook (laptop connection at 65-72 Mbps) to check whether You will be the same (reboot router) with 750-MHz or maybe you’re someone doing well even at a frequency of 750 MHz??
I want to know I have one this happens at 750 MHz, or someone else as well.
With overclocking, results may vary. That’s a thing always to keep in mind.
Mine has been running @750Mhz since I bought it and I have not noticed any instability or spontaneous reboots.
I have more the once downloaded 100GB from the internet using usenet/newsgroups which gives me a transfer speed of about 14.5MB/sec and a utilization of around 60% to 75%. Having some teamspeak (incoming) and a few torrents open doesn’t matter, the router never reboots.
Also over the 2.4Ghz wireless I get about 12MB/sec up to 18MB/sec depending on distance and wireless NIC/machine and I have done Iperf or transferred 10GB or more without issue.
So I am definitely not having your issue @750Mhz.
With that said, if your router does remain stable at 650Mhz or 700Mhz, that should answer your question. You could try adding a fan into the mix to see if it does stay stable longer that way? But in the end, it’s the hand your dealt, pick of the lottery, etc. It will always do the 600Mhz stable and anything above that is a bonus.
My routerboard version is 3.04 and my RouterOS version is v6.0rc11 at the moment. I am using the default power adapter which supplies 24V and my temperature (according to observium) fluctuates between 46C and 54C with few spikes to 60C.
