RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN - isolating n and g clients

Hello:

I’m strongly considering purchasing the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN.

I have several 802.11g clients on my network which really can’t be upgraded to 802.11n. I also have several 802.11n clients. Given dire warnings about mixing g and n clients like this:

http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=2506

is there a way to restrict n clients to one chain and g clients to another?

I’m not sure if the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN actually has two radio modules or not, I’m a bit confused by what the term “2-chain” means in this respect. I think it’s a MIMO arrangement as opposed to 2 distinct radio modules though as the RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN block diagram shows one AR9380 module.

However, given the power of RouterOS, is there anything I can do to isolate n and g clients?

Thank you.

RB2011 has one wireless interface. There is no such feature to limit g/n clients per chain, however I do not see any issue with mixing g and n clients in the network.

Thank you for the reply.

So does this mean the concerns in the linked article (and the one it links to) are unfounded? The original article is now quite old, have things changed?
