RB2011UAS-2HnD with Aztech HomePlug

Hi all,

The RB2011 unit was purchase and setup by vendor and is working very well for the church. Im new to RouterOS and would like some help in expanding the wireless coverage.

The below is a high level network diagram which is currently working very well.

|— Wireless PRIVATE —> 192.168.8.x ----> SSID Office
RB2011UAS-2HnD --------|
| |— Wireless PUBLIC -----> 192.168.9.x ----> SSID Guest
|

  • ether1 → to vendor internet BTU
  • ether2 → server (192.168.8.x)
  • ether10 → printer (192.168.8.x)

The diagram below is when connected to the Aztech HomePlug HL119EP and HL117EW.

|— Wireless PRIVATE —> 192.168.8.x ----> SSID Office
RB2011UAS-2HnD --------|
| |— Wireless PUBLIC -----> 192.168.9.x ----> SSID Guest
|

  • ether1 → to vendor internet BTU
  • ether2 → server (192.168.8.x)
  • ether10 → printer (192.168.8.x)
    |
  • ether5 ----> HL119EP -----> HL117EW —> SSID Guest2 (192.168.9.x)

My question on the new network is:-

  1. HOW do i set ether5 to use subnet 192.168.9.x?

Thanks.

Johnny

Hello, make a bridge put the ether5 and the Wireless PUBLIC interface in the bridge

Set by IP-address the IP 192.168.9.x on this bridge
Make that the DHCP server is put also on that bridge
See bij firewall nat that the nat interface also changed to this bridge

TQ for yr solution.

The ether5 port and the public wireless lan is having the same subnet.

TQ.

Where will you put the wireless interface?

In private?

To change that go to “bridge” “ports” select the wireless interface and put this in private bridge.
