Hi,
Today I was tidying up the cabinet and I noticed one of the antennas of our RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN was stuck in one direction. It wouldn’t even stay completely vertical, so I decided to give it a push. It was only after I heard a slight crack that I realized it was a very bad idea ![]()
So I opened it up and found the issue. The antenna mount sits right against the board connector, and the later was angled in such a way that it was rubbing against the cable and preventing a full rotation. I also noticed that no matter how I positioned the connector, the antenna mount would push against it while rotating in one way or the other.
I don’t mean to criticize, but this placement seems really poor.
As you can see in the attached pictures, the cable is in bad shape.
Question 1: Is there any way I can test the performance/signal strength on the damaged cable, other than a simple throughput test?
Question 2: Is this covered by the warranty?
Question 3: If I were to replace it, is an antenna with MMCX connector the right type?
