FFS this thing is a major pita.

Now i merely am trying to factory reset the thing and that doesn’t even work.

Followed this:

Just as it says, i put a tiny pick in the end til i feel it click, then plug in…boots. Doesnt matter how long I hold the thing in, the lights never blink, ever.

I tried various other combinations, pushing in while on, unplugging, still holding in, plugging it back in, nada

Keeps coming back to the same settings that I cannot randomly log into.

I have never in my life had not even just such a hard time doing anything, but even factory resetting it. I have used many different routers and have experience loading open source firmware and what not. This is a joke.

Reset button pushing time is somehow tricky, as depending on the settings you can either reset the device, make it enter netinstall mode, or put it in CAP mode.

If you can access the device (tip: use winbox, switch to neighbors tab and connect to it by clicking on the mac address, so that you connect to it in layer2) go to System > reset configuration, my advice: tick no defaults to start with a completely from scratch environment.

If you cannot access the device, I’d netinstall it (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall) to make it entre netinstall, keep pressing the reset switch until you see the rb2011 appear in the netinstall application (usually 30 seconds or more).
