RB2011UiAS only running at 100mb?

Anyone have any Ideas why my RB would only be passing traffic at MAYBE 100mb after years of great service? I even upgraded to v7.6 but I’m not getting the speeds I should be.
Nothing has changed by me, even had the ISP come out and I got a new modem.

nothing is overheating, it’s been in the same spot since day 1. I even tried talking nice to it.

Cable ??

What advertised speed does it show on the ports ?
Which one is the WAN port ?

From terminal:
/interface/ethernet/print proplist=speed

Which ports are you using? Only the first five ports are gigabit

RB2011 legendary WorkHorse
Good Router
10 years OLD

consider something newer for serious current demands

It’s on cable . I am using ports 1 2 and 5 . Over the past year is seems to have been getting slower. The ports show they will go from 10m to 1 g in speed.

I meant ethernet cables failing LOL

oh sorry, lol
I’ve swapped out all cables to every connection

Maybe you upgraded to RouterOS v7 ?
That doesn’t make it faster… remember when you upgrade your trusty old Windows XP PC to Windows 10, it also may not be faster.

My network was running at 400mb download now I only get maybe 100mb. I upgraded the OS to see if it would fix the issue but even that didn’t work. I’ve disabled all rules, and brought it back down to basics and it still won’t transfer like it should.
Using jumbo packets I transfer around 900mb on my LAN so I know it has nothing to do with any of my computers, switches or wiring.

How about connecting your computer directly to the ISP modem, if that’s possible.
What does it give then ?

if I bypass the router I get my full speed

Opinion is worth sh*%^.

/export file=anynameyouwish ( minus router serial number and any public WANIP information )

Check your firewall filter hat fasttrack rule exist and is enabled. Rb2011 needs fasttrack to achieve WAN speeds over 200mbps

I’ve tried the fasttrack setting. I get about 150mb peak and then it drops to under 100mb.

I had to do a another video transfer and I couldn’t finish. I dropped connection to my server. I guess the router just decided to retire itself.

I have some old Compaq Proliant DL140 servers I was thinking of repurposing into a router. May as well do it now.

You still haven’t shown your config.

It no longer matters.

  1. my config hasn’t changed that would cause these issues
  2. I can’t even pass traffic between ports anymore

this unit is now a door stop.

Cooperative is not your middle name… Your one skill seems to be bricking routers.

Your config hasn’t changed “as far as you know”. We really can’t help if there is nothing to go on from

Provide the output of

/interface ethernet monitor [find where running=yes] once

And the config and complete setup with mentioning the link speeds at each end of every cable.
