RB260GS as unmanaged (No IP address)

Hello all

Posted in SwitchOS but no response.. Hopefully someone here can help please?

Just got an RB260GS to use specifically for the PoE input function. I do not require a managed switch as I already have an MT doing all the necessary and don’t want it to take up an IP address on the network…

Is it possible to make this an unmanaged switch as if it were just a normal end user switch? i.e. plug and play.

Why you are so concerned about mgmt ip?
Just change swos mgmt ip addres to something like 10.10.10.10 and uncheck all “Allow From Ports”.

My network runs in the same subnet and will be using multiple of these switches. Thought it best to leave it unmanaged so the IPs don’t conflict with each other and the network? Maybe I’m wrong…

Didn’t think of changing the subnet though as that means I can still manage it without causing issues right?

I will suggest you to leave mgmt ip in your current subnet so you can monitor switches if some clients start complain and definitely set a password for each switch…
