The new VLAN tag functions that are displayed in the VLANs tab of the RB260GS - are they ingress or egress rules? This page is very different from the 250GS.
Also - what is being done with these functions that isn’t being handled on the other VLAN page?
This is very useful function allowing to solve this situation:
each packet incoming from port A will be marked as VLAN X when going to port B;
packets incoming from other ports will not be changed (neither packets with no VLAN) when going to port B.
This is what I need and it was not possible on RB250GS. My question is: Would this function be implemented on RB250GS in future releases of SwOS or it is not possible due to hardware? I’ve bought many RB250GS and I don’t want to throw them away and replace with RB260GS.
Maybe somebody else is also interested, here is the response from support: Vlan-based egress actions on RB250GS is not possible
due to hardware limitations.
