What about adding a 2.5GbE or 5GbE port to the RB3011 using a USB 3.0 adapter?
Are you asking if it’s possible?
I imagine it is not possible now, but it would be good to add support then.
Interesting notion, they could make it compatible with an adapter and sell that adapter under the MikroTik name. It would be then worth their time to do so.
It would also be good for the ac2.
2.5GbE costs 35 euro (Realtek).
5GbE costs 90 euro (Aquantia).
Linux has the drivers.
Mikrotik already supports some slower adapters.
both have USB 2.0 if i’m not wrong, so its a no go.
No, I checked that the site says 3.0.
Older stuff has 2.0 .
only RB3011, hap ac2 has 2.0
Ah, yes. Thanks.
I was right thinking that the site needs better filters.
And I was not crazy: the SoC has 3.0 . Bad.
The hEX too, but maybe 3.0 is used for microSD and the design was carried over to the ac2.
