RB3011 poor speeds

Hello all,

I have been using a RB3011 as a firewall for my ATT GB Uverse fiber connection. Originally when it was installed a year ago, speeds thru the router were pretty close to 1GB. Since then, I haven’t really made any changes to the router config, other than periodic upgrades of RouterOS stable and routerboard firmware.

But lately, it seemed that speeds were not great, but until now I haven’t had much chance to verify, so I don’t know when this issue started unfortunately.

Running ATT’s speed test thru the RB3011, I seem capped at 50Mb/s download and 100Mb/s upload. I connected a PC directly to ATT’s modem, and the speed test shows pretty much full Gb speeds.

The interfaces on the RB3011 all seem to be autonegotiating 1GB links. Copying files between internal systems on the switch ports gets me nearly 900Mb/s transfers, so I think the switch functionality is OK. That leads me to the firewall…

I have pretty minimal rules on the firewall chain. Fastrack, allow established/related inbound, allow any outbound, block everything else. The CPU usage with these rules is only about 10%, so the router is basically idling when capped at 50/100 Mb/s.

I really don’t know what to look at from here. I’d appreciate any suggestions! Thanks
