How much throughput can be expected on an RB3011 for simple queues? I just had a hardware failure and I’m looking for a good value replacement that can handle a few hundred Mbps…
I have a hEX in place right now which is ~90% CPU all the time, I have a couple RB850Gx2 units in UPS and I’ll swap one out as soon as it gets here, I think that will handle 2x the hEX for queues.
According to the official figures at http://routerboard.com/RB3011UiAS-RM the answer is “at least 200 Mbps, even with small packets”. I have one on a 200 Mbps connection with five simple queues, and I’ve never seen the CPU go much higher than 25% at that speed.
