Month ago I started to use Dude server at my RB3011. For Dude’s database I inserted new 32Gb USB 3.0 flash drive.
Dude server started normally and its DB worked. But Dude stopped worked since several hours. Looking at /disk print I discovered that there is no USB drive mounted at RB3011.
I guessed that something wrong with this particular flash drive and replaced it by another one (8GB, USB 3.0). By the way, 32Gb flash drive showed no problem at desktop computer.
Dude server worked normally up to yesterday’s when I upgraded ROS from 6.37.3 to 6.38.
Flash drive disappeared from disk list again! Of course, physically flash drive is connected to RB3011, but there is no disk at list and Dude server does not working again.
RB3011 is many miles away from me, so I can replug flash drive only tomorrow.
So there is the question: why does USB flash drive dismount? May it be connected with Dude server?
Ordinary flash drive is not designed for placing database. This is just to transfer photos to another computer; second flash drive will soon fail too))
Use the SLC flash.
I have this problem also, but with a 16gb usb 2.0 drive. I have a backup of the whole disk1 directory, so I can just reformat, load the files back on, and reimport the database. That saves over an hour of driving for me, but it doesn’t seem to last more then a few hours to days. Are you sure it is the flash memory type that is the problem? Also, why is there a dismount command but no mount command in routerOS?
i have the same problem. but on my 3011 dude works good about mounth. after that usb drive doesn’t recognized by mikrotik (only low lewel format of the drive helps) on PC all is ok with flash. I had tested about 8 flashe drivers (both 2.0 and 3.0) - the same problem.
The other problem is that i tried to use industrial CF card with card reader - on hap ac lite all is ok, but 3011 doesn’t see the card
Are there any relevant log settings or data dumps that would tell us what is happening here? I got a new USB3 stick to try, but I really need to know that there is a solution that can run stable long term for dude on external storage for my RB3011…
so, i have this problem again.
3011 doesn’t see disk (unpluging/pluging doesn’t help, as i know from experiments only LOW levwl format of the disk will help)
the problem appeared after rebooting RB.
the dude was running, the base was on CF card in USB3.0 cardreader
Does anybody have the idea how to solve it?
I first saw this after a reboot also… Trying to think of possible debug options. Mine is at a tower on the hill, so I can’t physically test replug. I am glad you tried that. It seems the unit doesn’t properly mount the drive some times, but there is no manual command to do that.
i had send support file only today (i cant’t get to the office where is the 3011 with dude).
an yes - dude db is on CF card. 2 days ago there was reboot of the rb3011 and it lost disk.
while waiting the answer from support the only decision for me is to move dude from 3011 to CHR
No news, there are no answer from support. And as i had written in privies post - i moved dude to chr, so there is no more need for me to use disk with 3011. so i didn’t make any tests more
Has anyone solved this yet? I have a PNY 64GB USB Flash drive connected to a RB3011UiAS that keeps disappearing after several hours of working. If I reboot the RB3011 the drive comes back and everything works again for what appears to be a random amount of time. I am using the USB drive for The Dude server on the RB3011.
i have the same problem in a CCR1009-7G-1C for user manager. when this happens the usb disk is changing/losing disk name and user manager database is corrupt. this is happening random every some months. i have to format usb flash drive and start a new user manager database.
next time it will happen i will post a screenshot of log.
